Newsgroups make it possible to get answers to your technical questions. You can save time by tapping into the online community of peers who are buiding applications similar to yours. Newsgroups are sorted either by technology or by product for convenient access to the specific information you need. Many of the newsgroups are for DevEdge Members only. Cascading Style Sheets Newsgroup *
Discussion of using W3C Cascading Style Sheets to format web pages and of degrading gracefully for older browsers. Sample subject: "How does text flow around a floating image?"

CORBA/IIOP Newsgroup *
Discussion about programming with Netscape Internet Service Broker. Sample subject: "How callbacks are done."

Document Object Model Newsgroup *
Discussion of using W3C Document Object Model to read and write HTML and XML content, set element properties, and build web applications. Sample subject: "How do I use the nodelist to change an element's contents?"

HTML Newsgroup *
Discussion of using W3C HTML 4.0 features in Navigator 5 and of degrading gracefully for older browsers. Sample subject: "How do you use COLGROUP to structure an HTML 4.0 table? "

Java Newsgroup *
Java language as it pertains to Netscape products. Sample subject: "Posting data to a Secured Server."

JSP Newsgroup *
(Java Server Pages)

JavaScript Newsgroup *
General discussion of Client-side JavaScript. Sample subject: "Programatically updating more than one frame with one click."

JavaScript Reference Implementation Newsgroup *
For discussion of the JavaScript Reference Implementation, a C implementation of the JavaScript language suitable for incorporation into other software. Sample subject: "Making the JSRef threadsafe."

Linux Newsgroup *

LiveWire Database Configuration Newsgroup *
Discussion of database configuration or connectivity with Netscape's LiveWire. Sample subject: "Connecting to an Oracle database."

SSJS/LiveWire Programming Newsgroup *
Disucssion focuses on developing applications that use server-side JavaScript and LiveWire with Netscape web servers. Sample subject: "Populating an HTML SELECT list with data from a database."

Netscape IFC (Read Only)
Note: The Internet Foundation Classes have been deprecated and replaced by the Java Foundation Classes which are available from Sun Microsystems and included in the Swing User Interface classes in newer versions of the JDK. The IFC should not be used for new development and information here is for legacy purposes only.

NSAPI Newsgroup *

Resource Description Framework Newsgroup *

Hosted by Netscape and voluntarily monitored by Developer Champions, Developer newsgroups are a peer forum for exchanging ideas and information with other developers as well as to solve problems. Netscape does not offer any formal support in the newsgroups. Netscape may monitor newsgroups on occassion to ensure accuracy of information and assist Developer Champions as needed.
