The Giant Java Tree is a cool
site for hosting open source Java development. In addition to the
usual tools like CVS, it has web based tools which let you do things
like generate and release a JARfile automatically.
A few of the projects/products for running Java on free operating
systems are: Blackdown, IBM Java, gjc and friends, kaffe, and Japhar. Also see the
Enterprise Java for Linux and Java CGI HOWTO's.
There are lots of Java sites listed
at dmoz.org, including an "open source" category.

DOTP has been implemented and it seems better than the RMI implementation. Otherwise I had problems with the thread-handling of the Linux JVM.
0.4.0 release now available

Version 0.4.0 of the gnome-gcj library is now available for download. This release contains some new classes from GDK and GTK, as well as new methods for the old classes. Better GDK support is planned for the next version.
Project Kickoff

Finally JAM development started. Unfortunately I'm going into holidays very soon, but I hope to get JAM-v0.1 (including JAM-src-v0.1 and JAM-doc-v0.1) out before. The first release (very pre-alpha) will just provide some socket handling and output to a window/console. Documentation will hopefully be up to date when releasing the first development version.
