RAIDIONplus
HARDWARE ARRAY CONTROLLER
Higher Levels of Data Integrity
Increased Management Capability
Increased Performance

RAIDIONplus advances controller technology to improve performance, redundancy, and array management.  The new RAIDION LTXplus, LSXplus, and Rxplus subsystems provide industry-leading features such as Dynamic Expansion, Adaptive Caching, and an Ultra SCSI interface.  In addition, the products now include dial-in / dial-out remote management, removable non-volatile RAM, and Windows based network management.

Dynamic Expansion

RAIDION is among the first manufacturers to implement Dynamic Expansion, which allows users to add storage to an array on-line without needing to back up and re-format the array.  By simply re-booting the system, RAIDIONplus will recognize the new storage capacity and integrate it into the system, saving cost and downtime.

Adaptive Caching Technology

RAIDIONplus employs a unique new Adaptive Caching technology, which uses optimum buffer sizes based on the lengths of individual I/O requests sent to the array.  The caching is also multi-segmented, and tuned for trends detected in the Logical Block Addresses being accessed on the array.  Ultra-SCSI (SCSI-3) offers double the speed of standard SCSI-2 offered on most RAID products.  And, the cache is user-configurable up to 128 MB.

Enhanced Data Integrity

The new RAIDIONplus controllers provide enhanced data integrity by offering optional removable non-volatile RAM in 8 MB and 16 MB configurations.  The RAM includes battery back-up to allow data to be moved to a new board without the loss of any data contained in the module.  The battery back-up also protects against power failure for 72 hours.

Management Access

RAIDIONplus also offers increased management access.  The system can alert administration via pagers, and authorized users can dial into the system to manage the array.  In addition, an Ethernet port is provided to allow the user to run a Windows, Win 95, or Windows NT based management utility from any client on the network.

The Rackmount Rxplus includes differential SCSI with signal integrity up to 22 meters so cabinets can be placed where space is available rather that adjacent to the file server.  New dual power supplies offer added availability assurance.
